Rococo architecture

Rococo was not strictly an architectural style, but rather a refined and playful evolution of Baroque, characterized by a light and whimsical approach. This style was crafted by a number of brilliantly frivolous French, Italian, and German artists, decorators, and architects. Primarily associated with the reign of Louis XV, Rococo was more of a mood or a fashion than a formal movement, and it remained a short-lived yet distinctive phase in architecture and decoration. Ca. 1725-1775
